The joke in the class was concerning the hollywood aspect and the crappy
movies that might come out of it. ( but I really did enjoy deep impact) I know
the evidence is there. Look at the northeast corner of Australia. There is
evidence of about 5 of these such events happening. I know that this event
will wipe out probably 90% of the human population. I take this possibility
very seriously but please chill out.. AND PLEASE DON'T CALL ME MS. (sorry
childhood fear there) I know that this event will happen but probably not for
another 3,000 years. However it could happen sooner. I would never joke about
the big crack, however Hollywood and the media are another story. I am sorry
if I offended anyone.
There is a moderate risk of the end of the world happening tomorrow.. but
you can't say lets move into a cave in the Himilayas with cases of Ensure and
Spam in order to avoid a really big wave ( gee thats an understatement) from
lapping at your doorstep. At the moment I am about 25 feet above mean sea
level. You are most likely about 10 feet above MSL. I live on the east coastal
plain ( just about 2 miles from the fall line and piedmont plateau) Both of
us would be toast ( well really really soggy toast)
There were many things wrong with Deep Impact. For example...... on a
highway, 5 miles to Va. beaches, as the wave is hitting at about 300 mph and
getting to the top of the Appalachian mountains on a moped if riduculous. It's
these stupid little things that Hollywood overlooks that bothers me.
not Ms. Sarah.... just Sarah
( and you don't have to say just)
