Simnia - Following up on Johns comments...
The Sea Whip Coral shows up maroon to orange to yellow (mostly yellow). You
can find Simnia on them, often very plentiful, that will match the color of
the Sea Whip. Simply pick the bunches up, shake, and then pick up the
Simnia

What you will find collecting on Texas coast is opportunism! The worse the
winter weather, the better the beach and bay collecting. The weather brings
them in, then takes them out, then you may never see them again for 10 to 15
years.
