Hello Maureen,
Earl H. Reed, now deceased, was a longtime personal friend of mine.
He lived in Enfield, Connecticut, and was on the curatorial staff of the
Springfield (Massachusetts) Museum of Natural History. He was an active
member (and principle conchological expert) of the now defunct Connecticut
Valley Shell Club which met at the museum for many years. After his death
(I am not certain of the year - at least 10 years ago), an obituary (written
I believe by Dave DeLucia) was printed in Of Sea and Shore Magazine, which
was accompanied by a photo of Earl and myself at some shell function.
