Dear Patty and anyone else that has the Marginella book,

I have worked up a little list, but without really seeing the
Marginellas, I won't know for sure. Anyway here is what I have. I am
using my Marginella book to list where the pictures are.

The Marginella loebbeckkii is probably ventricosa if you say it looks
like it.

Marginella exilis could be Prunum exile Gmelin, 1791? There is also a
Volvarina that is called exilis and I can't seem to remember which one
that is.

monilis used to come in as a commercial shell by the gallons. Look at
Plate 8 # 7. I call it Prunum terverianum (Petit, 1851).

bernardi and glauca look almost the same to me. Does your shell look
like the one on Plate 6 # 13?

hindsiana is probably olivaeformis (Kiener, 1834)

deliciosa---Look at Plate 15 # 1. I call it ambigua Bavay in
Dautzenberg, 1912.

It was mentioned that marginatum has a double lip whereas storeria
doesn't. Marginatum is usually twice as large also. But there are
dwarfs and giants in many of the Marginellas.

I thought I put a list on Conch-L of the shells that have been named in
my book since it has been published. If not I'll try to get to it.
There are quite a few that have been named.

Bob
