Hi Jan,

I have so far never collected shells from the Victoria area, in fact
I've never gone to the ocean there at all. I do know that those who
have shelled in the area have raved about the "Victoria Breakwater".
This is supposed to be the Mecca for shell collecting in the area,
although I have no first-hand knowlege to give you. Any place I've
collected shells in the BC area is at least a day's trip from Victoria,
either up the coast of Vancouver Island near Tofino and Bamfield
(Barkley Sound), or on the mainland in Puget Sound, Washington.
So my advice: see if you're still able to collect on the breakwater.

Hope you have luck and good tides,

Peter
