Dear Henk,
I agree that the Nautilus article is a good starting place, but it is
not perfect. For instance, they incorrectly cite the number of issues in
the journal Sterkiana. This journal ended and there was one final issue,
which apparently did not achieve full distribution. I know this for a
fact since I received a copy of it last year from someone who had it.
This is the problem with such a compilation, if a final issue was only
distributed to a small fraction of the original subscription base, no
museum or library may have recieved the final issue.
I am wondering if the elusive Vol. 13 was ever printed, and if it was,
whether only a few members at a meeting picked it up and it was never
mailed out to everyone. Through this forum I wanted to contact former
Pittsburgh shell Club members, whom may know about this issue, or survey
others who may have a collection in their library.
Also, the article which compiles the serial publications of the worlds
malacological literature, both professional and amateur, is a great
reference to have. We should all thank Henk for pointing it out. I
unfortunately neglected to do so in my first posting. The search
continues.....
Charlie
