It's cold in my apartment in NC. They didn't know how to insulate well in
many Southern buildings.

I was amazed and quite pleased to be able to score 2 round-trip tickets to
Bangkok, Thailand for a little under $1500 total! My trip is coming up in a
couple of months. Look at some of the discount airfares on the web and then
bid a little low on Priceline.com or other place. Depending on what
accommodations you'll absolutely require, you can do quite well on your
budget.
