Thank you for your help in identifying my conus specie.
Well, in fact i identified my conus as a burryae clench 1942 after having seen exactly the same conus on a picture from the recent book from M. Lamy & Pointier about Caribbean shells.
I contacted a french collector who found it also.
The pictures i have made are terrible ! I am going to try to make some more.
It is not a daucus. I am sure at 100 %. It is not the boui, 100 % sure. But i do not know the norai.
If you have a picture of this specie, can you send me one of a typical specimen.
I am going to describe the conus :
All the specimens i found are beached & fresh dead.
I found those shells very locally on the atlantic ocean coast in 1-2 meters deep.
2 of them are really very fresh dead ones. The average size is 15 to 20 mm. I found oine of 35 mm though.
The color is a clear brown. On the apex (spire) they are white lines. On the dorsum of some specimens i can see dark brown lines (difficult to see).
I swear i am going to make some more pictures soon.
I think this is very interesting.
I discussed with local collectors, they never seen this specie before. Only one have found only one live specimen (but he went back to France).
