Hi everyone,

     My name is Tim Blackwood and I am a graduate student in biology at Bemidji State University,
located in northwestern Minnesota.  I had to sign off the list for a while, but am pleased to be
able to return and am looking forward to learning from the discussion that occur here.  I may even
be able to contribute something from time to time. :)
     My interest in mollusks goes back about 20 years.  A neighbor introduced me to shells and
provided me with some of my first specimens.  Though my ability to acquire specimens is limited by
inability to travel (at least while in school) and funds (being a student keeps me financially
impaired), my interest in molluscs has never waned.  I still manage to visit yard sales from time
to time and find great pleasure in rescuing shells that people have tired of having around the
house.  They get rid of them and I provide them with a new home.  Recent rescuees include a really
nice _Cassis_madagascariensis_ and a nice _Conus_litteratus_.  My favorite groups of shells
include conchs, cowries, cones, and volutes.  However, all shells are greatly appreciated.
     Well, this is a very brief introduction to me.  I will sign off for now.  Hope this finds you
all happy and healthy, and I'm really looking forward to hearing from you and benefitting from the
