Hi everyone,

The abbreviation "cf." is frequently inserted between the genus & species
names, as in Cecilioides cf. tumulorum. I believe it implies some sort of
ambiguity in the identification. Can someone explain what that abbreviation
stands for & when & why one would use it? Thanks.

A.
