Yes, Shell Island was formed at Panama City Beach, FL, on the Gulf Coast,
during WWII, when a channel was cut through a peninsula to make a harbor
there. The people living there were relocated. It is a favorite shelling
spot, but accessible only by boat.

The jetties that hold the channel open are favorites for fish, some tropical
colored, and a favorite of divers.

Linda & Jim Brunner, you should know, you live there. Bob Crutchfield? a
member of the Gulf Coast Shell Club???

Sylvia
