Hi, Fellow Collectors!

Is this Murex "Chicoreus cichoreum"  - I am particularly interested in the species name.   It is so close to the genus name, but spelled differently in the first four letters.   Is this the actual spelliung?   If so, what are the meanings of each, given that the words are so similar?
