Whoa there!

Did I misunderstand a message that said that a species name does NOT change its ending even if the species is put in a genus of a different gender from the original genus where it was placed??

I must have misread this, as , for example, people have been changing the ending of many Pectinid species as they are assigned to a different genus, to agree with the gender of the
of the new genus.

Please clear up my confusion,
Thanks,
Linda
