Just for the record, many research labs are currently trying to raise the cones themselves instead of "robbing " them from the ocean. Of course, this takes time to study and perfect. The article seems to come down pretty hard on using the cones for such important research.  Loss of habitat is a big problem and some areas will probably need to be protected to help ensure that some species don't become extinct.  But we all know what that lead up to....! Helen
