>Is anyone currently collecting landsnails in Alabama or neighboring U.S. states in a systematic manner?<

A survey of molluscan species in Bankhead National Forest in Alabama has just started. The principal participants are based three floors up from Andy. If you've been paying closer attention to signature files on CONCH-L than I usually do, you may have noticed the change of venue for Stephanie Clark from Sydney to Tuscaloosa. Katharine Perez is also working on land snails.
