500 species.  The illustrations are in color including illustrations of 61
type specimens. The book arranges the species by faunal provinces. ]

Slieker's book will help you better understand the scope of the family and
the species found in the Caribbean.  Not all Chiton workers will agree with
the taxonomic treatment, but this is the most complete single reference of
a worldwide scope published to date.

Hi!
I want to know if somebody has information about the approximated number of
genus and families of living chitons around the world?. And whatever of
these would be occurring in the Caribbean?. I already review the monographs
of  Kaas and Van Belle Vol 1-5 but I have not found an integrated data.
Maybe you can suggest where I could obtain more information on the matter.
