Modern references list them this way:

all oceans of world: all the oceans of the world.
They are the North and South Atlantic, North and South Pacific, Arctic,
Antarctic, and Indian Oceans.

Dear whomever;-
    So far, I have read two responces Re: 7Seas. They both agree on six.
However,---one Suggests the Persian Gulf as the 7th, while the other
suggests the Atlantic Ocean as the 7th. The "seas" agreed on are: The Med.,
the Black, the Caspian, the Adriatic, the Red, and the Indian Ocean. What
your devoted question man now wonders is if both the Persian Gulf and The
Atlantic should be included---while the Caspian might have been considered
one really big lake.
