Subject: cotton batting vendor
Greetings all,
I'm looking for a vendor of cotton batting, specifically the stuff that's
unbleached, coarse & heterogeneous, and comes in a giant roll. Museums buy
it to put in specimen boxes to cushion delicate fossils. I want it for
that, too, but I've also found that my most tireless lab assistants---my
dermestid beetles, masters of skeletonization---need it for part of their
life cycle...tho' I'm a little afraid that the more tired lab personnel
might also find that big roll a little too cozy.
I've investigated vendors through fabric and upholstery houses, but come up
empty. I'm hoping a museum person might be able to just let me know from
whom they buy there batting.
Thanks. --Larry
