Never published this observation, but may be worth conidering it: several
Trochoidea spp. from islets in the Balearics were live after five years in
dry, ventilated containers.  Of course, I was not trying to make any
experiment, had just forgotten those specimens...

I know that the most tough guy is a desert snail Euchondrus sp. that awoke
after some 5 years glued on a cartoon in a gallery of a museum. This is a
Guinness record. Are any others heard of it too?
