Dear friends,

This is clearly Helix aspersa. Well, maybe Cantareus aspersus, or Cronu
aspersum. The common European garden snail, anyway. The purple color is
most unusual, perhaps due to Photoshop?

Best wishes,

Cristian

Asunto: Purple Californian terrestrial snail mystery

Hello Conchlers,

I have a new mystery page set up for a beautiful "purple" terrestrial snail
picture sent to me from a fellow in California. This snail was found at
the
Pigeon Point Light Station SHP: State Historic Park, California.

If you can help identify this pretty snail please send the information to
Ian at:mailto:[log in to unmask] directly or if your comments are sent to
the
list I will forward them on to him. The page can be viewed at:
http://www.manandmollusc.net/Mystery_shell_pages/ian-mystery.html

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

All the very best,
Avril Bourquin
