A question for any who know the current world record for Tiger Cowries...

I surfed into a U.S. Government web site while looking for cowry info. At
http://www.sanctuaries.nos.noaa.gov/pgallery/pghawaii/living/living_16.html
(near the bottom) I found a mention that Tiger cowries grow to 18 centimeters!
This page was last updated in 2000.

The only verified claim of a world record that I've heard of is near 15 and
one-quarter centimeters (~6 inches). Have I missed missed the mention of big
jump in the size of Cypraea tigris L.?

A second web site
(http://www.hawaiisfishes.com/books/hawaiis_sea_creatures/creature_samples.htm),
which was updated last year, still considers six inches to be the maximum for
Tiger Cowries.

Does the NOAA website have it wrong?
