GenBank and EMBL have extensive compilations (shared, so either has the
same information) on DNA data.  You can seach under "Taxonomy" for the
names of your favorite taxa.  However, with so much data, they do not
necessarily have things fully worked out taxonomically, nor does
"unpublished" always mean that you can't find the paper listed as
published in another data base.

Different sequences will be more or less useful for species
differentiation in different genera, so it's hard to predict in advance
what gene will be most useful.
