Aloha Don,
This is in my opinion a Cypraea mappa Linne, 1758. Obviously the shell
suffered earlier pre-adulthood damage before maturing. The damage extended
to the mantle which would likely explain the incomplete dorsal pattern. I've
had bizarre mappa's before & this is a oddity all right.
