To those of you that are shell bibliophiles,
A year ago I bought several old Italian shell engravings that had
been removed from a shell book. They were labeled Italian, 1849, with no
other information. Avril Bourquin was kind enough to put them on her
"mystery website" to see if anyone could recognize them and tell me from
which author they might have come.
The pages are 7"x10" and are hand colored. The writing under the
drawings are as follows:
Left bottom:Petre dip. Middle bottom: Turpin dir. and bottom
right:Carini inc, or Stanghi inc., or Corsi inc.

Any help in trying to track down the publication would be greatly
appreciated.
        Avril's webpage is:

Thank you in advance for any info.
