Actually I think that this discussion is very pertinent to our forum or any
"scientific" community.

When there is a group of people, who now have a significant influence in our
(US) government and our education system, who should be more concerned? Who
should do something about it?

And it's not "venom" to have an opposing opinion. Actually it is a genuine
fear for the future of our county and our world that extends far beyond a
political opinion but to the core of our topic, and that is the stewardship
of this planet and it's recourses.
