That's very sad, Paul. It's about shelling and differing opinions are what
make it interesting and the whole point of "discussion."  If you don't like
certain topics, then use your delete key.  But, it's rather absurd to feel
you have to "leave the List" because you see differing opinions or because
participants in this hobby are concerned about the ethical aspects of what
we do.

Topics like this make me want to leave the List.  How in the world can we
assume what any scientist's ideology is?  Or for that matter, any person
interested in natural science. I have a son who is a PHD research scientist.
He is also a sheller with a very active interest in environmental issues. He
definitely leans to the right. I, myself am a centrist. Let's keep our
personal agenda off the list and stick to shell collecting.
