Interesting tidbit on public radio today, seems the seas around the Maldives
islands is on the rise at a rate 10mm per year. seems trivial but that's
1000mm (1m) in 100 years. raise the sea level 3 ft and it covers alot of
terra firma. Could this be the beginning of a new iceage? as for the
Maldives apparently the area around the islands runway is underwater to the
point that there is water on both sides. Also the islands aquifer is
becoming contaminated with sea water.
