Last week I found a fresh-dead Sunray Venus, Macrocallista nimbosa, without
any of the usual pattern of rays or radial markings, which give this clam
its common name.  I'm curious--has anyone out there ever collected one minus
the rays?  In my many years of shelling Tampa Bay, this is the first I've
seen!
