Dear friends, regards from Europe!
Two days before Christmas Eve I received an e-mail from the director of the
Austrian Innsbruck Muzeum. The contents may be of some interest:

"Lieber Herr Kolouch,
Helmut Nisters und seine Mutter Irmgard (jetzt 96 Jahre alt) sind in einem
Pflegeheim und es geht ihnen eigentlich nicht so schlecht. Helmut musste
sich wegen zu hohem Blutzucker ein Bein amputieren lassen und ist jetzt auch
noch blind. Er ist aber immer noch geistig der Alte und ausgesprochen aktiv.
Leider kann er mit der Sammlung nicht mehr arbeiten.
Er würde sich aber sehr freuen, wenn Sie ihm einen Brief schreiben
könnten!!!

"Dear Mr. Kolouch,
Helmut Nisters and his mother Irmgard (she is now 96) are in a nursing home,
and considering everything he is keeping quite well. Due to high blood
sugar, Helmut had to have his leg amputated, and in addition he is also
blind. Despite his age he is mentally alert and active.  Unfortunately he is
unable to continue to work on his shell collection.
He would be pleased (and so would his mother) if he would receive a letter
from you!!!
