Dear Alwyn,

Many workers use ethanol to preserve samples for later study of DNA. Some use 70% some 95%.

Subject: DNA Studies

Hi All

We would like to have DNA studies done on two related species to determine
the difference.

1) Is there a standard recipe to preserve the material before study?
2) I understand that there may be different DNA studies or techniques. Is
there any specific one that is generally accepted as being the better one to
use?

Many thanks in advance.

Alwyn
