Dear Sarah and Whomever;-
      You brought it up. I didn't! But since you did, I must explain
that flying pigs (Porkus aeronauticus) are not color blind but rather
di-chromus---which means they recognize only one color in addition to
blacks, whites and assorted grays. But each pig recognizes a
different color and a different shade of that color. Each male FP
develops a wattle during mating season (Early May to late July) and
each wattle is of a specific color. That is what attracts a female
whose toes match the wattle color of the male. The actual mating has
never been seen as it usually takes place high over a forested area
during a rainstorm.
