Hi Patty

I think Fred in MN is putting you on the wrong track (pardon the
Australianism) Emily Vokes now retired is a world authority on the
Muricidae, her late husband Harold was a leading authority on the
bivalvia. For literature on American bivalves my favorites are Myra
Keen Seashells of Tropical West America, Tucker Abbotts American
Seashells and Hawaiian Seashells by Allison Kay, for some serious study,
Harold Vokes GENERA Of THE BIVALVIA.
