Grant Baldwin announced th death of C.M. Burgess several days ago. He
will be missed by many people, particularly those in, or close to Hawaii
and Cypraea.

Burgess has willed his very extensive and significant Cypraea collection
to the Bishop Museum in Honolu. He provided for Dr. E. Alison Kay to
arrange for this transfer. Dr. Kay has suggested that donations be made
specifically for the use of the Bishop Museum Malacological Research
Account.

As in many museums, the Bishop Museum has been able to make very little
funding available for research collections. Any donations will assist
in proper incorporation of Burgess' collection.

Aloha,

Wes
