Hi Emilio,
It is quite possible for cyp melwardi to come from swains reef,( the
southern end) it is a huge reef and is the home of cyp hesitata
capricornica. I do not know if the reef exposes during low tides or it's a
reef that can only be trawled, to my knowledge cyp melwardi is taken
intertidely from shallow waters usually on minus tides, but of course it
does'nt mean that they can't be trawled from deeper water although it's
highly unlikely.
Both Tryon and One Tree Island plus the southern end of Swains Reef are
situated on the tropic of capricorn which is the northern end of the
Capricorn Group of Islands, which in turn is off the coast of the city of
Rockhampton and the tourist resort and fishing town of Yepoon.
All intergrades of cyp melwardi live with normal specie and all intergrades
are considered to be cyp melwardi..
I'll try and get some information from the experts for you,and forward to
you as it comes to hand.
Hope this has been of some help,
                        Cheers Dawn
