Peggy,
I desparately need to see specimens of Atrina maura and Atrina
oldroydi. Abbott, 1974 considered oldroydi to be a synonym of maura, but his
illustration of maura was Dall's illustration of oldroydi from the originial
description. If at all possible, I need live specimens (one of each) to
compare. Shells are my minimum need. I need to look at size, sculpture,
internal adductor muscle scars, etc. I have finished the description of what
will be Atrina perryae, but am holding off on submitting until I have done all
my homework.

I appreciate any assistance you could give in this matter. Let me know
how much you want for the specimens.
