Just to correct a bit of subterranean geography, DeSoto Canyon is not off
Cape San Blas, Florida.   The head of the canyon begins in the general
vicinity (offshore of course) of Pensacola, Florida.  It extends westward to
points due south of Alabama locales and east and southeast more dramatically,
but to say DeSoto Canyon is off of Cape San Blas is a stretch.
