Summer field positions:
 
Ecology of ambersnails - a technician is needed to sample numbers and
habitat use of an endangered snail and sister species in Grand Canyon
and in Kanab, Utah.  Position requirements: able to perform meticulous
and methodical work under difficult conditions without losing mind or
humor.  Some camping and boating required.   Background in field
behavioral observation, population sampling, spreadsheet data entry and
wetland plant id desirable.  Salary: $1200/month.  Some housing expenses
and travel expense to the field area will be covered.
 
Wetland vegetation and land use history - a field worker is needed to
assist with vegetation studies in Zion National Park and Grand Canyon,
and to begin research on land use history. Position requirements: able
to perform meticulous, methodical and sometimes boring work under
difficult conditions without losing mind or humor; must have legible
handwriting. Some camping required.   Background in spreadsheet data
entry and wetland plant id desirable. Salary: $1200/month.  Some housing
expenses and travel expense to the field area will be covered.
 
Both positions run from roughly 9 May to 15 August and will be based in
Kanab, UT.  Personal vehicles a plus for personal travel - mileage will
be reimbursed if used for research purposes.  Mail cover letter, resume
