Dear Conchlers,
I always tried to explain to and I want this confirm again. The shell collection, where I asked for
shells in donation, is not not not our private one, but from the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum.
So I can't enrich me myself with shells, as they are not mines. They belong to the museum and
my mother and I are volunteers since 1972 and we treat the collection as our private one.
The shell grit I am asking for my mother as the sorting out of shells and foras keeps her quite
active, as she is really aged nearly 89 years, born 18. 8. 1911.
When I traded some exotic and oversea species as well as landshells I took the shells out of
our private collection, not to make the museums collection smaller and poorer.
As there were now many nice answers and I hope some will follow, I will stay then on the list in
future too. Maybe that there are coming again annoying askings but I'll try to use Conch-L more
for informations. And humour should be nevertheless too, otherwise I think it's boring. And for
me it should be this a list for contacting and to change ideas in any way, not only concerning
molluscs only scientific.
again with best greetings
Helmut
p.s.: Maybe we Tryroleans as the folk of the mountains and Alps (or hinterland) we are very, and maybe
to open and contact friendly.
