Amy:
Two questions come to mind ... where in the western US is your specimen
from and how big (or little) is it? McLean (1978: Marine shells of
southern California, NHMLAC Sci. Ser. 24 [unfortunately out-of-print])
lists 4 species of Tricolia from southern California. The only species
with a "low spire and red stripes" is L. rubrilineata (Strong, 1928).
Aloha,
Lindsey
