Hmm. Direct experimentation hadn't occurred to me before, but now you've
filled my mind with thoughts of the people I would volunteer as guinea pigs.
Their faces terrified, or perhaps merely resigned or even quizzical, as the
cone -- fatal, allergenic, or harmless? -- approaches them in their
