Well, I guess that I should jump into this conversation also. Several
years ago, when my wife & I were in Japan, we noticed a very interesting
event: Japanese crows would drop the shells from rather low heights, but
onto roadways where the cars were few and far between. Aim? To get the
cars to crush the shells and then pick up the remains. We found quite a
few broken, empty shells after this event. When we returned home to Los
Angeles we saw on Japanese TV a report of this very act, in several places
around Japan. Now, are Japanese crows smarter? Sneakier? More
industrious? More technological? than other international crows>
