Dear, Lr´s
Some friends of mine just offered me a couple of shells they bought at a
local shell shop and I would like to know a bit more of there habitat,
distribution and abundance, since the data that came with the shells was
very pour.
I would also like to know if the prices that the shells were sold is high
or low compared to the international market.
The shells are the following:
- Fusivoluta clarkei (Rehder, 1969); South of Mozambique (90 mm); (6 US$)
- Mitra incompacta (Lightfoot, 1786); North of Mozambique (71 mm); (4 US$)
- Solariella meyeri (Kilburn, 1975); South of Mozambique (diameter 16 mm);
(4 US$)
- Conus daucus (Hwass, 1792); Honduras (49 mm); (14 US$)
- Oliva tigridella (Duclos, 1835); Pilipinnes; (29 mm); (1.5 US$)
Hope some one can be of help !!
Yours faithfully,
Carlos
