Lower concentration hydrogen peroxide is available as a first aid disinfectant. It is also the active ingredient in some hair bleaching solutions (hence peroxide blondes). I know of a geologist who had good success disaggregating sediment with one of the standard brands. Watching the sediment bubble will probably discourage you from using it on your hair.
