You can see one of the syntypes of sublaevis on line. Go to:

http://clade.ansp.org/malacology/collections/search.php

and search for catalog number 80388. It's currently treated as a synonym of Tegula turbinata A. Adams, 1853.

A good occasion to remind folks that many of the Academy's types are now visible on line, with more following each month.

Subject: Re: [CONCH-L] Chlorostoma

Hi, everyone!

I had no luck regarding my posting for information on Chlorostoma agryrostoma sublaevis. Is there a specialist in the Trochidae that you can recommend? Is Dirk Strattmann still active?

Any information at all would be appreciated.

Regards,
Ron

 Hi, everyone!

I am currently editing a monograph on the Korean
Trochidae. I'm wondering if anyone can enlighten me on
the status of Chlorostoma argyrostoma sublaevis (Pilsbry,
1904). This name keeps popping up in the literature
here, and I suspect that it may be a synonym.

If anyone can help me determine whether or not this name is
valid, or point me to someone who can help me, I would
 greatly appreciate it.

 All the best!
