Dear Patty,
All the answers on these questions you can find in:
Christiaens, J., 1973. Revision du genre Patella (Mollusca, Gastropoda).
Bull. Mus. Nat. Hist Nat. Paris, (3) 182, Zool. 121: 1305-1392.
This work contains also corrections to the monograph published by Powell at
almost the same time.
He wrote also an extensive paper on the Patellidae of the Atlantic Islands
off West Africa.
Unfortunately I do not have Christiaens works at hand at home, so I can not
give you the answers at the moment.
By the way Christiaens is still active in the field of limpet-like shells.
Best regards,
Henk K. Mienis
