I imagine Dick Petit might jump on this one!

As I recall, the book was written by someone in England, all Poe wrote was
an introduction, and it was published under his name in the United States.
This was done to stimulate sales. Jose Parodiz wrote about this in the
Pittsburgh Shell Club Bulletin, and others have commented on this
publication as well in other publications.
