Paul,
I have enjoyed your input on CONCH-L, particularly as related to the
publishing aspects. We do get a bit off base at times (to say the least), but
this group is therapy for me and I suspect for others as well. I must admit
the flying pigs rubbed me the wrong way at first too, but they really do kind
of grow on you. The occasional humor we get on CONCH-L really helps lighten
the load. I hope you and others of like mind will hang in there with us for a
while longer. Like any community we have our squabbles, but by and large its
a great group. I learn a lot here. I laugh. I get exasperated, but
regardless of the topic of the moment I grow from my association with this
group. South Alabama is a lonely place for anyone interested in mollusks.
The local collectors no longer meet together and the other biologists in the
area are into fishes, crabs and the like. I enjoy being able to communicate
with people all over the world and share similar interests and experiences.
Stay with us a little longer. Also, Happy Birthday CONCH-L!
