To Conch-L:
I shared several collecting trips with Connie Boone. She was always
helpful and I was amazed at the extent of her knowledge. In Madagascar she
had the misfortune of putting her foot through the bottom of a small boat.
After receiving medical treatment and the assurance that it was not
serious, she stated she was glad it wasn't that bad; but, when the time
came to go, on a shelling trip would be the way to do it. Which reminds me
of a poem I read one time, which I will quote below - I don't know the author..
"Do not stand by my grave and weep,
I am not here nor do I sleep.
But picture me still on some distant shore
Picking up seashells just as before."
