I have had a question about how Lampsilis haddletoni Athearn, 1964 got
its name.

The requestor stated that "My name is Haddleton and I would like to find
out who named this mussel, or how it was named etc. since our family
name is so rare." (Yes, we know the author's last name, but I think
the requestor is wanting something more than that. Maybe this species
was named after a long-lost relative, or something.)

Please respond directly to the requestor at: [log in to unmask]
as I don't always have time to scan through all the Conch-L digests I
get.

Thanks,

Debbie Wills
