Dear Henk,

Recently I got one specimen of Otala lactea (O. F. Müller 1774) collected
dead at the
Pepperdina University Camput, Malibu, California, USA in 12. 1999. by Jim
Alborano
It was Charles Sturm who sent me the shell, but unfortunately labelled as
Crypthomphalus aspersus (O. F. Müller 1774). But it is Otala lactes. The
innerlip is
nearly black(brown), the outer lip is white. It correspondent with the ours
in Europe.
Charles Sturm maybe has more information.

I hope it helps you.

with Otaling greetings
Helmut from Innsbruck
